Cummins NPower Awarded Fire Pump Manufacturing by Cummins Inc.

SALT LAKE CITY (May 23, 2004) - Cummins Inc has officially transferred responsibility for the fire pump market to Cummins Fire Power, a division of Cummins NPower LLC. “With the transition of the fire pump business to Cummins NPowe LLC, we'll be able to respond quickly to the needs of our customers while maintaining the high level of quality service that is expected from the worldwide Cummins distribution network,” says John Laka, Cummins NPower Vice President - OEM Sales & Marketing. “We'll be further expanding our fire pump driver product line with more options and products that cover the upper end of the market as well as high speed applications,” John adds. Cummins Inc. produced its first fire pump product in 1954 and now Cummins NPower LLC has expanded their product line to encompass six engine platforms that span a range from 37 to 427 horsepower. This range covers key FM-UL Certified BHP ratings and rpms.
Cummins NPower LLC is one of Cummins' largest jointly owned distributors headquartered in St. Paul, MN. Its' fire pump driver business will be located at a 40,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Green Bay, Wisconsin. With a dedicated facility and more than 25 years of experience in providing custom engine applications for both the industrial and the power generation markets, this makes the addition of the fire pump driver business a natural fit.
