You cannot add, change, or modify the engine. The engine, as it was sold, was tested and certified to NFPA-20 standards which is indicated by the UL and FM certification tag. Any modification to this engine would cause the engine to deviate from the listing, resulting in loss of UL and FM certification for the engine.
NT/NTA855, 6BTA5.9-F1/F2/F4 and 6CTA8.3-F1/F2/F3 engines are pre-EPA emission certified engines with a high Bosch number for smoke. If the engine has been properly maintained, the smoke is probably normal.
The prior engines cooling loop may be re-used assuming it provides the required flow of raw water listed on the engine spec sheets located on this site. The cooling loop must comply with NFPA-20 guidelines. While you can reuse the old cooling loop, we strongly encourage you to select our CFP cooling loop to avoid possible compatibility issues.
Manuals are located on the Products page. Select the engine model and then the O&M manual link.
